You can do everything right… and it still doesn’t work

One of the biggest pressures many parents carry is the idea that if they can just find the right way to handle things, everything will finally fall into place.

That pressure usually comes with an exhausting attempt to raise children in such a balanced, thoughtful way that one day, years from now, their children will look back and say, “Honestly, no notes.”

Which is a lovely fantasy.
